Cairn commemorates marathon runner Geoffrey Mathieson Watt.

Geoff Watt was a well travelled marathoner and father of Olympic cyclist Kathy Watt. He perished at Mount Erica in September 1969 while out running.  He came 10th in the 1959 Boston Marathon in America and 10th in the renowned 90 kilometre Comrades Marathon in South Africa.
