The monument commemorates those who have served in the various conflicts in which Australia has been involved.
Elliott was an Army staging camp during World War Two and was named after the Commanding Officer of the camp.
Note: The statue on the original war memorial which was unveiled in 2004 was badly vandalised and replaced around 2011.
