The band rotunda was erected in memory of those from the district who died in service or were killed in action during World War One. The plane on the top of the rotunda is a replica of the Allies first fighter used in the war.

Australia Remembers plaques, pertaining to the rose garden, have been placed on the base of the rotunda.
