Tarcowie Soldiers Memorial HallPrint Page Print this page

Tarcowie Soldiers Memorial Hall was erected in memory of those who enlisted in World War One.

The Tarcowie Hall was built in 1909 and, after World War I, it was decided to build two rooms and a porch on the front of the original Hall as a Soldiers Memorial. The Memorial rooms were dedicated by Col. Parkes D.S.O on 1 December 1922, the Foundation Stone having been laid by Mr. Daniel Butterick, who had three of his six sons in the 1st A.I.F. One was killed in action in France and another died of illness as a consequence of the War.
