The monument commemorates those who served in World War One. It lists 40 names

The unveiling ceremony of the Mount Hunter Soldiers Memorial on this Saturday by Brigadier General Onslow promises to be a great success. All preparations are well forward, and the only thing necessary now is a fine day. The committee have arranged for afternoon tea to be dispensed by the ladies at the small cost of 1/-. Any money arising from this cause is to be placed to the memorial fund. Tables are being erected in the Mount Hunter School playground, and the visitors are invited by the teachers to view the School Honour Roll, which contain the photos of all men of Mount Hunter who served in the war. It is hoped that all returned soldiers of the district will make an especial effort to be present.

As well as the unveiling of the memorial, the certificates presented by the Wollondilly Shire Council will be distributed to the returned soldiers. If the soldier himself should not be present the certificate will be handed to one of his relations.
